Try as I might I cannot listen to a recent(ish) Björk album all the way through. I see the reviews giving thumbs up, and it makes me double check my own assumptions.
fossora (note the lowercase ‘f’!) has not changed this opinion.
Looking at the albums I have (not all of them) I enjoyed until Vespertine, in 2001. And then something changed. Volta, Vulnicura and fossora all come from the same place.
Lately been listening to Chris Forsyth, “Evolution Here we come” and “All Time Present” (which I ordered from Bandcamp). Pretty varied from track to track, and each of them is engaging and no impulse to switch songs. Some are long, some are short, a few have vocals, and many are very “prog rock” (which in this context is a good thing).
Particularly All Time Present sounds more like you’re attending a small intimate concert than lounging on your sofa; it grabs your attention and suddenly you’re tapping along.
